Hosted by Bermagui Big Game Anglers Club, the 89th Blue Water Classic is a NSW Game Fishing Sanctioned Tournament. Competitors who sign up will also be chasing other fish such as shark, king fish and tuna in the waters north or south of Bermagui. There are prizes in various categories in the tag and release and capture sections. Prize categories include marlin, other game fish such as yellow fin tuna and shark, junior and lady angler categories, as well as a small fry section and a lucky angler prize. Run out of the port of Bermagui, the 36th Alliance Tag & Release Game Fishing Tournament is hosted by Bermagui Big Game Anglers Club, and is an alliance of Bermagui Big Game Anglers Club, Canberra Game Fishing Club, Latrobe Game Fishing Club and the Victorian Game Fishing Club. The first Candelo Show was held in 1883 and the Candelo Agricultural, Horticultural & Dairy Farmers Association has a rich history of providing a great affordable fun day out for the whole family. Activities and exhibits include exhibition of dairy cattle, commercial cattle, dairy goats, poultry and pavilion exhibits include local produce, arts, crafts and much more. Ring events include show jumping competitions conducted throughout the day. The amazing wood chop and dog jump competitions are a must see. The animal nursery gives children a real hands-on experience of farm animals and the ‘Kids Castle’ and other children’s attractions make the Candelo Show an entertaining day for everyone.

A tribute to Bob Harris … annual mental health fundraiser and community event
Focuses on fundraising and spreading awareness for mental health and suicide prevention after the tragic loss of Bob Harris - a father, friend, musician and beloved community member. Each year this event works closely with leading mental health organisation R U OK? and many aspects of our community to bring people together through the universal language of music. Song for Bob 2024 resulted in a $10,000 donation to R U OK?, an overwhelming achievement by a small rural community.
This year the event features 16 acts on2 stages, beginning at 1pm and taking us right through the night. Line up is packed with a wide variety of music genres from rock, blues, folk to hip-hop, funk and electronic, something for everyone and all are welcome. Line up includes Satin Cali, Hugh Jass, Daniel Champagne, Karl S. Williams, Prodikal-1, Howlin Mitch & The Habaneros, Smoking Heads, The Kick Ons, Robyn Martin Band, The Cracked Tiles, Dave & Amy Harris, Phoebe Jane & The Dirty Manes, Martin Fowler, GAB, Footloose Strangers and Tommi.
