The George Bass Surfboat Marathon is the world’s longest and toughest surf rowing marathon …. 7 days, 7 legs and 190km of the most spectacular piece of coastline in Australia.
Day 1 Sunday 29th December: 31km Batemans Bay to Moruya
Day 2 Monday 30th December: 19km Moruya to Tuross Head
Day 3 Tuesday 31st December: 22km Tuross Head to Narooma
Day 4 Wednesday 1st January: 24km Narooma to Bermagui (arriving from 11am to 12.30pm)
Day 5 Thursday 2nd January: 36km Bermagui (departing from 7.30am to 9am) to Tathra
Day 6 Friday 3rd January: 27km Tathra to Pambula
Day 7 Saturday 4th January: 29km Merimbula to Eden
To see the spectacle of the arrival and departure of the surf boats at Bermagui, head on down to Horseshoe Bay Beach in Lamont Street.

Song For Bob 2025 @ Murrah Hall

A tribute to Bob Harris … annual mental health fundraiser and community event
Focuses on fundraising and spreading awareness for mental health and suicide prevention after the tragic loss of Bob Harris - a father, friend, musician and beloved community member. Each year this event works closely with leading mental health organisation R U OK? and many aspects of our community to bring people together through the universal language of music. Song for Bob 2024 resulted in a $10,000 donation to R U OK?, an overwhelming achievement by a small rural community.
This year the event features 16 acts on2 stages, beginning at 1pm and taking us right through the night. Line up is packed with a wide variety of music genres from rock, blues, folk to hip-hop, funk and electronic, something for everyone and all are welcome. Line up includes Satin Cali, Hugh Jass, Daniel Champagne, Karl S. Williams, Prodikal-1, Howlin Mitch & The Habaneros, Smoking Heads, The Kick Ons, Robyn Martin Band, The Cracked Tiles, Dave & Amy Harris, Phoebe Jane & The Dirty Manes, Martin Fowler, GAB, Footloose Strangers and Tommi.
Gates open 1pm, Murrah BBQ available, music from 2pm. Tickets and donations via Humanitix.

2025 Bermagui Blue Water Classic Game Fishing Tournament

Hosted by Bermagui Big Game Anglers Club, the 89th Blue Water Classic is a NSW Game Fishing Sanctioned Tournament. Competitors who sign up will also be chasing other fish such as shark, king fish and tuna in the waters north or south of Bermagui. There are prizes in various categories in the tag and release and capture sections. Prize categories include marlin, other game fish such as yellow fin tuna and shark, junior and lady angler categories, as well as a small fry section and a lucky angler prize. Narooma Oyster Festival 2025

Join growers, chefs and shuckers to celebrate the rock oyster on the shores of Wagonga Inlet, Narooma. Friday evening, 4pm to 8.30pm, is festival warm up with live music, fireworks and OYSTERS. ReBoot in Bermagui is a weekend to re-activate, re-energise and relax in Bermagui’s beautiful coastal environment. Held on the NSW/ACT long weekend on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th October 2025, there’s fun runs, ocean swims, social group bike ride, teams tug-o-war challenge, stand up paddle boarding. Or join in yoga, tai chi, pilates, golf, barefoot bowls, tennis, golf, badminton and more. For kids there’s a fun run, tug-o-war, netball shoot out and more.

Remembrance Day 2024

This day marks the anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914-18). Bermagui (Sub-Branch) of the RSL of Australia will conduct a commemorative service commencing at 10.45am at the Bermagui War Memorial, top of Lamont Street opposite Reflections Holiday Park. One minutes’ silence will be held at 11am sharp. Members of the community are invited to attend to commemorate the loss of Australian lives from all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations.
